Earn Your MPH/RD from Top-Ranked UNC

The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, the No. 1-ranked public school of public health and No. 2 overall,¹ offers an online Master of Public Health/Registered Dietitian (MPH/RD) program.

This program prepares you to sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) exam — a requirement for RDs — and gives you the local and global public health knowledge you need to strengthen your practice. By 2024, a master’s degree will be required to practice as an RD.

No GRE required.

Internship Placement Services

As a student, you will benefit from customized placement support to help you fulfill CDR exam qualification requirements. You will complete:

200 hours

of practicum work

1,000 hours

of a dietetic internship

During your dietetic internship, you will learn how to integrate your clinical and public health skills in a range of settings, including:

  • Hospitals
  • Local health agencies
  • Governmental organizations
  • Nonprofit groups
